Karen Dennis is happy because she and Allan are headed to LA to see their grandchildren. Rhoda Pierce is happy to announce that she is running for re-election for the water reclamation district. Mary Beth was happy for a wonderful weekend spent at printers Row as an exhibitor for Illinois State Poetry Society, along with Poets & Patrons and East on Central. 

 

 

 

Roxanne Hejnowki is the Park District's Executive Coordinator. She started the DEI initiative (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion). Many of the activities that stem from this initiative are community oriented. Partnering with the Moraine Township Holiday Food Drive, Toys for Tots, Orphans of the Storm shelter, Lake County Women's and Children's Shelter, Fill -A- Heart 4 Kids food drive for at risk youth, and Zac's Zoo (254 stuffed animals were collected for children) are just some of the activities Roxanne has coordinated for DEI.

 

All this makes Roxanne a perfect fit for the Community Week Food Drive in coordination with our Club, Shop N Drop, and SaLT. The Park District, First Bank of Chicago - HP, and HP Bank & Trust had drop off boxes set up. In total they received 1000 items donated! Fifteen Park District volunteers will join SaLT students and some of our Club members to help sort, bag and deliver the food this Friday from 3-6 at Shop N Drop's location at Port Clinton..
