Our speaker, Steve Sarowicz began his company Paylocity in 1993 as the only employee. It has since gone public. Worth about $80 million, he likes to joke that he has to live on dividends. At 57 years old, Steve is married and has two grown children. He is now a busy CEO of two foundations he started; Julian Grace and Wayfair. Wayfair is in the process of purchasing the Renaissance Theater on Second Street. He plans to open on February 10th, and in the future play family friendly and uplifting movies. Another idea is to show documentaries followed by discussions with noted professionals in those fields. His foundations focus on moving the ball forward on issues instead of applying band aids to the problems. According to the website. Julian Grace Foundation "is an entrepreneurial private foundation that does high-engagement grant making in order to create a just, unified and hopeful world". Wayfair's goal is to break through the roadblocks to humanity coexisting peacefully, based on his Bahá'í faith. He was an interesting speaker with a lot of historic knowledge. We look forward to the opening of the theatre! We missed those of you who couldn't make it - we hope to see you soon! |
