DG Kevin Stevens gave us a glimpse of his background and how he came about to his current position within the District. Although he lives in Antioch, he was a past president of the North Chicago Club. He was familiar with the North Chicago area because he was in the Navy. He knew the impact of Rotary could benefit such a community. Kevin then reminded us of the importance of our continued financial support of The Rotary Foundation. He also encouraged us to invite him along on a service project. He offered suggestions for gaining new members such as inviting them to a service project before inviting them to a meeting or fellowship. The District Conference is the second weekend in May and his goal is to have 200 Rotarians attending. Also discussed was a better way to receive news about the happenings around the District. A newsletter from the DG is sent out almost weekly. He suggested members check their spam folder if they haven't seen one. |
