Notes From the April 5th Meeting

President Eric Ephraim welcomed members, and our visiting ADG Don Gwinn and Connie Pigati! We recited the Pledge of Allegiance and the Four-Way Test.

Raffle tickets and invitations have been sent. You can NOW pay for your dinner & raffle tickets, and even become a sponsor for this event on the website. Just go to the home page, click on "RSVP here".

Don't forget!
With SNAP benefits severely reduced, and high use of our Food Pantry, food is going out as quickly as it comes in and our shelves  look sparce quickly.
Shopping for your family? Consider picking up an extra item for the Panty.
Here’s a list of foods our clients enjoy that our shelves are low on:
  1. Salad dressings
  2. Canned salmon
  3. Instant/boxed rice
  4. Cooking oil
  5. Sugar
  6. Condiments: olives, pickles

Happy Dollars
You don't have to wait until meeting day to share your happiness! Click on the yellow box below, donate your happy dollars and then email Mary Beth at hphwrotary@gmail.com and tell her what you're happy about!
This week, members were happy for: Eric Ephraim is happy to welcome our new member, Rick Heineman, guest Connie Pigati, and ADG Don Gwinn. Neil Dahlmann was a proud Grandpa last week when he and Mary flew to Quantico, VA to see their granddaughter graduated from Marine OCS School!  Bill Pigati was happy to share a poem with members "I'm a poet and I know it!" Ron Borden was glad to be back from California which had it's worst winter ever. The weather prevented him from golfing! Rick Heinman was touched with the warm welcome he has received as a new member.
Note: If I didn't list your Happy Dollars from this week, please let me know and I will add it next time  -mb
The Day's Program
The Day the Poet Came
       April 5, 2023
by Mary Beth Bretzlauf
with the April rains,
a poet came to town –
seeking the sage men and women
of the local Rotary Club
greeting them as a poet does
during Poetry Month,
she read from her book of poems
about wishes and dreams
about love and loss
and life’s lessons
when her time to leave came
the sun broke out to guide her
onto the next place where people
need a few poems
