March 8th - Our speaker was Carolyn Dinofsky who has served as a docent at the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center for 23 years. She spoke on the history of the museum, including how the idea for it got started in the 1970's with the threatened march on Skokie by the Illinois Nazi Party led by Frank Collins and how it was designed by former HP resident Stanley Tigerman. She also spoke about the importance of the recent addition on the 3rd floor of the museum where kids can be educated on bullying.
March 15th - Anita Todorovic from Honey House in Vernon Hills, a young beekeeper gave a very informative and well received program on bees, being a beekeeper and the business of bees. She brought a selection of her products, which many members purchased, including jars of honey and honey-covered cashews, which Mike Babian highly recommended.
Many thanks to Paul Clements and Eric Ephraim for taking notes for me!!
We missed those of you who couldn't make it - we hope to see you soon!
