North Shore Walk to End Alzheimer's Sat, Sept 14th
Alzheimer's is a disease that impacts too many of Rotarians and their families. There are currently nearly 6 million Americans living with the disease with nearly 16 million caregivers. As the number of older Americans grows rapidly, so too will the number of new and existing cases of Alzheimer's. By 2050, the number of people age 65 and older with Alzheimer’s dementia may grow to a projected 13.8 million, barring the development of medical breakthroughs to prevent, slow or cure Alzheimer’s disease.
This is why we are proud to announce that for the first time in its history, Rotary Clubs will be participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer's, the world's largest Alzheimer's fundraiser, as a National Walk Team, led by the Alzheimer's Dementia Rotarian Action Group (ADRAG). Jeff Kaplan from the Alzheimer's Association Home Office and member of the Deerfield Rotary has started a District 6440 team for the North Shore Walk, taking place in Glenview on Sat, Sept 14th.
