About Us
Since 1927, the Rotary Club of Highland Park and Highwood has brought together neighbors committed to making a difference. For nearly a century, we've been he heartbeat of community service in our area, and we're just getting started.
Our members don't just talk about change, we create it! Through hands-on volunteer work at Bernie's Book Bank, clothing and food drives, and our signature International Rotary Festival, we connect with local residents, businesses, nonprofits, and Rotarians around the world. Every project is an opportunity to roll up our sleeves, build friendships, and strengthen the fabric of our community.
Inspiring the Next Generation
We're incredibly proud to sponsor the Interact Club at Highland Park High School, the school's largest student volunteer organization with over 100 members. These remarkable young leaders serve our community through their own initiatives and partner with us on shared projects, proving that the spirit of service knows no age limit.
A Global Community, Local Impact
When you join our club, you become part of something bigger: a worldwide network of 1.2 million Rotarians united by a common purpose. From district gatherings to international conferences, you'll find endless opportunities to expand your horizons while deepening your local roots.

It is with great enthusiasm and gratitude that I welcome you to the 2025–26 Rotary year. I am honored to serve as the president of our club as we embrace this year’s powerful theme: Unite for Good. This call reminds us that when we come together—across cultures, professions, and perspectives—we have the ability to create meaningful and lasting change in our communities and around the world.
Our club meets first Tuesday evenings 5:30-6:30PM and third Tuesday afternoons 1:00-2:00PM at Midwest Young Artist Conservatory of Highwood and at First Bank of Highland Park, respectively. We enjoy camaraderie with other business professionals in the area, as well conduct a brief business meeting and have monthly informative speakers on a variety of topics.
We always welcome new members and guests. Rotary clubs are open to people of all ages, cultures, and ethnicities. We are not affiliated with any political or religious organizations. Although we come from different backgrounds, the drive to serve our community and make the world a better place unites us. Over the years we have partnered with various agencies to foster proactive change for youth, education, health, and human service initiatives. We have supported organizations such as A Safe Place, providing service to women and children of domestic violence; we have made care packages for military personnel; coordinated a winter wear drive for a local nursery school for families in need, feeding the hungry and more. We sponsor Highland Park High School’s Interact Club, which comprises nearly 100 students who are also driven by the motto “Service Above Self”. We welcome you to our club, where you might learn more about the Highland Park/Highwood area and the efforts our club puts forth to strengthen our communities.
This year, let’s strengthen our bonds of fellowship, deepen our impact through service, and remain united in our commitment to doing good. Together, we’ll build on our club’s legacy while exploring fresh opportunities to serve with heart, lead with purpose, and inspire others to join our mission. I look forward to all we will achieve—united in Rotary and united for good.
Yours in service,
Doris Xie
