The Day's Program
Brad and Ida (brought four SaLT students to Bella Via to share with us their experience in Alaska. Ida was kind enough to provide us with an account of their trip:
We're excited to share an incredible journey that our SaLT team embarked on recently. SaLT, with a profound commitment to service, embarked on a meaningful expedition to Juneau, Alaska, in partnership with the Tlingit Tribe.
During our time in Juneau, our dedicated travelers immersed themselves in a variety of impactful service projects with a specific focus on collaborating with the Tlingit Tribe. Here's a glimpse of the inspiring work they accomplished:
1. **Trail Restoration**: Our team actively participated in trail restoration efforts, working to preserve the natural beauty of Alaska's landscapes while collaborating closely with the Tlingit Tribe members who hold a deep connection to this land.
2. **Backpack Initiative**: SaLT members took part in an initiative to provide backpacks filled with essential supplies to those in need, working in harmony with the Tlingit Tribe to support local communities.
3. **Homeless Outreach**: Recognizing the importance of supporting vulnerable populations, our travelers engaged in outreach efforts to assist the homeless community in Juneau. Their compassion and dedication shone through in every interaction, fostering a sense of unity with the Tlingit Tribe.
4. **Shelter Enhancement**: SaLT members contributed to the improvement of homeless shelters in the area, ensuring that these spaces are more comfortable and conducive to providing essential support and refuge, in collaboration with the Tlingit Tribe.
5. **Housing Initiatives**: As advocates for better housing solutions, our team worked on projects aimed at improving housing conditions for community members in need, in partnership with the Tlingit Tribe.
We are immensely proud of our SaLT team's commitment to service and their dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of others, particularly in collaboration with the Tlingit Tribe. Their journey to Juneau, Alaska, serves as a testament to the values of community, compassion, and collaboration that define our organization.
Thank you for your continued support in our mission to create a better, more compassionate world through service.
Warm regards,
Ida and Brad
