The Day's Program
Our speaker, Eric Schmelling, is a member of the Evanston Lighthouse Club and is the Director of Philanthropy for that Club. He also works for The Rotary Foundation. After being wowed by our Interact Students reporting on their October activities, he explained the function of The Rotary Foundation. This was most helpful to the many non-members who joined.

He explained the four different programs that make up the purpose of TRF. The uniqueness of TRF is the ability to directly move resources to continue the good work happening in communities all around the world. The four levels of programs are District Grants, that help with local short term projects. Next, Global Grants are longer term projects that involve two or more Clubs in two different countries promoting the international connection and community. Third, is the Conflict Resolution with Peace Centers around the world. These are geared toward mid-level professionals.  The final program is the End Polio Now.

OUR NEXT MEETING IS NOVEMBER 18th at 1p at FBHP.

If anyone else has ideas, has some time on their hands, or has a friend they think would love to know more about Rotary, please respond to this email.
