The Day's Program
Our Speaker Patrick Fitzgerald is the creator and CEO of Fresh Midwest. Patrick and the Fitzgerald family have over 5 decades of experience serving the Midwest's finest restaurants, hotels and businesses. Fresh Midwest came about this year to answer the challenge of many who could not shop for food in the grocery stores. It was the perfect time to deliver on the mission he saw for Fresh Midwest - "Better Food for Everyday".
It came about just before the pandemic. In early 2020, Peapod was shutdown by it's new parent company that wanted to focus on the East Coast. It left a huge void for customers who relied on their food being delivered. Throw in the pandemic, and it was even a greater problem. Tony Stallone and Mary Nissa were just a few of the people left behind when Peapod closed. Pat swooped them up to create Fresh Midwest. The company incorporated the food warehouse in Chicago and the produce factory in Kenosha to provide fresh food ranging from fresh meats, cut fruit and vegetables, parfaits, sandwiches and salads, even side dishes from great local restaurants like Gibson's and Wildfire. They also partner with Bear Necessities, the pediatric cancer foundation to help make a difference for those patients.
Orders can be placed on their website (freshmidwest.com) or on their app (available in the App Store or Google Play). The customer selects the day and time they prefer for delivery. The minimum order is $30 with a delivery fee of $4.95 for orders under $75 (it's free over $75). Fresh Midwest supports local farms, butchers, fish mongers and chefs  to guarantee the freshest products.
Paul Clements vouched for the fresh food that was delivered in his order - it was also delicious!
